ParticipantMy previously quite reliable WD12X washer dryer has started to display some odd symptoms and I have searched but cannot find any post replicating the codes.
I did a 90 degree empty service wash which is when this all started.
The machine went in to error mode with the dial turning continuously and flashing 15 times then a pause then 15 again etc.
I decided to check the filter, which was clear.
Then dis-assembled and checked the exit trap, pump assembly, exit hose and pressure switch tube. All clear of waste or easy to fix blockages.Checked the main pcb and all looks fine to the naked eye. no obvious blows etc.
Now re-assembled and I still get the spinning dial but 12 very flash flashes twice, the the drain pumps starts (machine is empty of water) then the dial begins to spin accompanied with 1 flash then pause, 1 flash then pause.
wonder if anyone has had any similar experience.
many thanks

A thousand times and counting……….. :rolls:
15 flashes normally indicates a dryer element problem. One flash normally indicates the motor triac on the main board has blown. Notice the use of the word “normally”, that’s Indesit’s interpretation of what each of the 2 errors represent. However in reality the fault or sequence of faults can only be used as a guide beyond that it’s necessary to carry out the ‘poke & hope’ technique toward sourcing the trouble.
With the plug totally removed from the power supply first I suggest you concentrate your time and effort primarily at the main circuit board. The circuit board is, using medical terms, the heart of the machine. It’s important to realise at this point that any Indesit washer-dryer over the age of 2 is ‘getting on a bit’ and is prone to coronary heart disease and the occasional stroke. It’s veins and arteries (the wires connected to it that is) suffer deep vein thrombosis and cholesterol clogging, a nasty business and once smitten it’s hard to dispense a lasting cure.
Looking outside the Indesit heart, it’s lungs (pump), liver (heater), bowels (motor), inlet valves (kidneys) all have a part to play and can cause the heart to skip a beat (dial clicks round and round and round…) so they in turn will need look at and testing.
So, I wish you luck counting them flashes (ECG machine) and all the best with your sickly patient and its future. 😈
