ParticipantAll I can find is the dryer air nozzle at the top of the door seal is somewhat loose. Seems that could be the source of the trouble, especially as she says it’s when she crams the washing in :rolls: .
Thing is they no longer use dryer section as there’s a shiny new Beko 7Kg dryer standing alongside. Now I tried tightening the two screws that hold that thing in place but they don’t seem to want to move and if I try any harder something will break. I left it that I would have a look at an exploded diagram and get back to her as I didn’t feel like removing the front and spending ages faffing about with it. If the nozzle were removed completely, (de-activating the dryer heater at the same time for safety) would the clothes ripping situation improve or get worse? Any advice appreciated.

That’s an idea, though I think the WD seals are a fair bit deeper. What’s a “front pressing”? Is that a tub front?

Participantyes.. its only a thought, the inner drums are the same, arent they?

im sure someone will shoot me down

Participantok, lookin at the pic, the tub front is deeper
if you took off the vent, wouldnt there be a hole?

I guess there would be a bit of a hole. But would that cause any problem? Maybe I could block it up with something smooth. Might be someone out there who’s done this before and got the tee-shirt. It’s not urgent, anyway, just something the lady asked about after I’d done the brushes on this one.

this is not a new problem with the washer dryers hotpoint had a problem with the 9900 series tearing washing
i found some customers had probs others did not but the trick seem to be getting the load right. put too much in and the clothes stay outside drum during spin when there should be room for them to shrink back inside
hope this helps
Dave
ps when the 9900 series had problem watchdog had a go at them till they eventually paid up for all damaged washing

Wouldn’t work, the pressure switch on the washer dryer is mounted on the drum front.
Also inner drum front is flat on a WD, it has a rounded edge on a WM.
As electrofix says, a long standing problem, nearly always caused by overloading.
Watchdog eh, the ‘Washing line of Shame’ :rolls:
Adjust the front feet or place some wedges underneath front to give it a slight backward tilt and tell them not to stuff the clothes in. 😉
Removing the nozzle altogether shouldn’t pose a problem.

have this problem on a wd63 but there seems to be a bit of wear on the seal at top as if the drum is rubbing against it ,customer swears he is not overloading it,i am going to try a new door seal and see how i go.
