WDIK754421 Nasty Noise

Hi all. Got a nasty mechanical grating noise – seems to happen whenever the programme advances to next step, as though it were a mechanical programmer grinding as it drives to next stage. the machine is maybe 3 yrs old
It doesnt seem related to the drum itself, that sound fine. I dont think its the pump, cos it happens when the pump shouldn’t be working. That said, it might be related to the recirculating pump – although this machine doesnt seem to have one. Maybe the drain pump doubles as a recirculating pump?
Ive looked at a list of spare parts and cant find anything that would make this kind of noise.
Also its tricky to locate where the sound is coming from sounds like top right – but maybe not.
I haven’t checked the filter, cos it doesnt seem related to the draining process – but I guess if its recirculating too it would be that. I’ll check.
Meantime any thoughts anyone?

Well…. sorted quickly fortunately! It was a flake of stone about 20mm across caught in the filter. What threw me was that it was also noisy when not draining. But I think the pump must also recirculate water so operates during wash cycle. Anyhow.. fixed now!
