WDJ 1294 – program selector advancing

Hi

I have a WDJ1294 – 10 years old but done excellant service

It has the advancing program selector problem (clicking around)

I have already changed the brushes as I had a problem where the drum no longer span up to full speed to dry stuff off. I have also checked the tacho fittment (but not tested it with a meter to verify a connection)

The unit fills with water then turns once – obviously discovers some fault and then moves the timer around to drain (Q)

I need ideas – I am suspecting the motor controller (but they are expensive) so want to validate if there is anything else worth checking before I make that pro-engineer-mend or chuck decision

Have now checked tacho with neighbours meter – seems to be ok

Check out this photo of circuit

I think the large resitor bottom right is burt out – its a bit black and I can no longer make out the colours – does anyone know what value this should be
