My WDM120 washer/dryer is three years old. After occaisionally tripping the supply circuit breaker with flashes underneath the machine on full spin speed, it now does not spin at all. It goes thro the cycle and the motor does appear to rotate in the right places but when it comes to spin, it does not tun at all. Motor brushes look OK with no signs of splitting or damage or shortage of carbon. Any ideas??

If the brushes are OK, it can only leave the motor itself 🙁

These are prone to fail with this symptom.

Around the £90 mark from memory. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk please for confirmed prices 🙂

Power off when checking the machine :zap:

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. The problem proved to be the module which may have been damaged by excessive sparking at the motor brushes under load and tripping out the supply. Replacement of the module plus new brushes solved the problem. It was a confusing one to solve because the module wasn’t completely disabled and only the spin cycles seem to have stopped. 😀
