ParticipantHi, just out of curiosity how much work load do your websites actually generate? I know its cheeky to ask and I also know that is a “how long is a piece of string?” type question, but Im just finally starting to build mine got the domain etc and it is a bit of a minefield to say the least.
Just curious what to expect etc. I know organic is better but is it worth paying in the begining to get it up and running? Do they generate that sort of work?Thank you
Phil

Absolutely vital these days to have a good web site otherwise your new business will disappear to the opposition. Everyone and his dog relys on the Internet for everything and most folks couldn’t get through their day without Googling someone to tell them what to do next. When the washer breaks down Google is their only solution. If you ain’t on there you miss out, simple as that?
Don’t sit back thinking that because you’ve been in business for umptydiddly years that everyone knows to call you, don’t kid yourself. Unless you have web presence these days you don’t exist! 🙁
How much work does it generate?……..create a good site (ask Ally for tips there 😉 ) that is up there in Googles rankings and you’ll be overwhelmed by new business enquiries.

i would do a Google places entry if you haven’t already – just as good as a web site in many respects,
a good web site is vital – but you then have to get it on page to stand any chance of customer finding it .
thats the hard part , how much do you want to spend to get your site noticed , if you have the time you can tinker about with seo etc .
if your really concentrating on local customers then a good Google places listing may be all you need ..
im afraid online is the same as newspaper adds etc – unless you ask customers where they got your add it very hard to quantify.

I’m getting more and more work due to my website nowadays.
I make sure I ask all new customers where they got my number from, and whilst ‘word of mouth’ is very high, ‘off the net’ is being said increasingly more often. -
