KeymasterIf you read this you pretty much know what it’s about.
The people that have currently have access here are listed below, I think we all know one another well enough;
Dave Conway
Kenneth Watt
Sean Delaney
Alex Reed
Phil Dill
John McKenzie
Kevin Morrissey
Chris Chantrell
Bryan Williams
Greg (Gegsy)
Ian Dales
Lawrence CareyAnd that’s it! No rules here, speak your mind and use whatever foul language you like in this one. 😆

Iv’e just read the list of correspondents to this room.
One or two names I didn’t even realise were members of UKW let alone having access to the WR. Is it an idea to drop off anyone who seems not to show a vested interest?
I like the exclusivity of this room, and would hate to see it diluted with names who don’t appear to be part of it. Without causing offence though I am aware there is no easy way to make the changes. I can ony come up with perhaps the moderators asking said members if they would like to stand down from WR activities and make room for some new blood who may give fresh input. If you are on a committee and fail to show, you eventually get voted off.
May I nominate Penquin.

Yep, P45 has been mooted before for inclusion here and I would like to see chris included in twr activities.
And, yes Alex I agree with your sentiments as well.
One thing we have to remember, again, not meaning to insult anyone, now you have seen the real names above, you may also know their nicknames, it’s too easy to reply to someone using their real name in the “open” forums, I know, I’ve done it 😉
Only applies to those who don’t sign their posts using real names of course 😀
Just a thought.

I think I know what you are driving at Dave regards real names.
Phil Dill for example I am aware is a valued member of the WR & I know he puts stuff into here under an alias, therfore he has an important part to play, but there are others whom I’m sure don’t bother.
What I say is; “If you are not part of the solution, you may be perceived as part of the problem”.
Just a thought.

KeymasterYeah Alex and I think I know to whom you refer. 😕
Neil, as there’s no input and hardly any sight of him at all.
Comments?

Active regular input is all too important within WR of course, otherwise there’s little point in being here. Long absences and lack of input would naturally generate suspicion within the rest of the group.
As one of ‘the new boys’ I defer further comment to others better qualified to judge. However I must add that myself and Chris being sole traders will find many subjects discussed here being beyond our scope and judgement and therefore our participation limited somewhat.
On the other hand I believe we operate in the trade from another angle and that often needs full and frank discussion that might otherwise be overlooked. 😀

So, no-one wants to upset Mark by suggesting him for removal then ?
Neil or Mark have never had much input here to be honest, and rarely read it.
There’s my vote 😉

K.You got it, I don’t see much of Mr Scoggs either.
Sad thing regards Neil is he initiated the whole idea on the original Whitegoods e-mail ring, where Neil thought it a good idea to pool together and work as a team to set realistic rates & standards. He was one of the pioneers, maybe he is too busy?
Neil also chaired our first Meeting at the Travel Inn Peterborough.
However, we need to keep this room at a realistic level, and those that are in here I think are tireless workers and have positive input. Pruning out the dead wood will allow more growth.

KeymasterScoggs doesn’t do typing! 😕
Anyway, I think both are too busy trying to rescue DASA right now to be bothering about what the “trade terrorists” are up to. 😉
The War Room, whilst it has expanded it’s membership of late, is a closed shop for brainstorming and getting a united front on many issues before they come to light in the general trade. It is also where strategies on many affairs are formed and as such, to a degree, I guess all of us in here set the standard for others to follow. Whether that seems subversive or not is irrelevant as many are too apathetic to get off their arses and get stuck in and we have to do a lot of it in private. DASA used to attempt to do it using the council meetings and there is still some value in that, but we can get the information out to more people a hell of a lot faster than DASA ever invisaged.
Anyway, whilst I would like to see more input from DASA’s leading lights it appears that they have no time for it at present. 😕

ParticipantNeil’s in Leeds – want me to try and track him down? We’ve known each other casually for years, so might be amenable for a chat!

KeymasterI kinda want to keep the numbers down in here Martin and I think we have a really good spread of people in here for now.
We’ll see what develops through time.
