Hi all, long-time reader, first-time poster.

Our Ignis ADL347 integrated dishwasher doesn’t clean well any more so I guess it needs replacing. It’s at least 13 years old and only needed minor attention for a leak a couple of years ago.

Not fussed about programmes or wifi and so on, don’t need huge number of place settings. But do want something that is well-designed, reliable and solidly built – ideally something not plasticky and wobbly.

Any recommendations? I’m willing to pay for genuine quality and reliability (though I can’t afford Miele money), but I’m not a brand snob and if someone says Beko or HiSense then that’s fine by me. Having said that, I looked at a couple of HiSense models in a store and they were pretty plasticky and wobbly inside…

    All suggestions welcome!

    Cheers

This is something I come across every week in the shop across all product groups. My answer is always the same there is nothing these days which has the quality that we enjoyed thirty years ago. Even the mighty Miele while still the best isn’t what it used to be.

Why I hear you say? Well it’s a combination of things, consumers want cheaper prices which leads to cutting corners and inferior quality, manufacturers need to increase market share in order to satisy investors and there is still this race to be the cheapest in the market.

All that said depending on budget I would look at Beko in the budget range, Zanussi/ AEG in the mid and either Bosch series 4 or the Neff / Siemens equivalent and then there is Miele.

Thanks very much. Looks like Bosch series 4, Neff or Siemens then.

I’m looking for a Beko right now but John Lewis have been out of stock for a few weeks. I’d like to go with them for the extra year’s warranty. Luckily our ancient Bosch is currently behaving again after being threatened with retirement so no immediate hurry. 🙂
