Wet washing

hi,

At the end of a wash cycle my washing is still dripping wet. The machine (Hoover HSW 1100 M) seems to be spinning at a reasonable rate of knots and I can’t detect any blockages or kinks in the drain hose, repeated spinning helps but is obviously not ideal. Whilst water is being expelled from the drain, lots of ‘sloshing’ water can be heard from the depths of the machine. Don’t know if it’s related but it will occasionally stick toward the end of the program around the spin cycle too.

Would appreciate any help before I go to repairs@…

Clearly the pump needs close attention AND the hoses to it and from it!

Repairs@ if you are the least bit unsure of the way forward 🙂

thanks for the quick reply,

having gained access to the pump the 3 pipes leading to/from seem clear. Should the pump impellor spin freely? Mine will turn but there is a cyclic resistance to the rotation, difficult to explain with words. Most like the resistance felt turning an engine past the compression stage. Hope that makes sense.

Yes, there is a certain amount of resistance felt when turning the impellor by hand..

Have you heard any clattering noises from that area recently (indicating a failing pump) ?

i don’t notice any clattering noises. just the sound of large volumes of water in ‘there’ somewhere.

Sound like a classic blockage, a £1.00 coin fits perfectly in the inlet pipe to the pump. If your waste hose connects to the sink check the “T” piece it is common for blockages to be found here. 8)
