    Hey all,
Have a bosch w/m which is not hitting full speed when spinning.
It starts, gets up to about half speed for a minute or two and then stops.
Does that again for another minute or two and then the timer goes to 1 min and thats it!
Meggered the motor – ok, and checked the brushes – ok.
Just did this from underneath as its a very difficult machine to extract completely.
I’m not sure what readings i should get on the tacho and i’ve not actually had the motor out yet but was wondering, is there anything other than the motor that can cause this?

Any thoughts before i go back would be much appreciated.

I think you’re on the right track with motor/carbons/ ins res. problem. Could be brushes are near finished and have left sufficient carbon dust around to cause a tiny leakage to earth, not big enough to cause alarm on your megger but big enough to cause this symptom. If not, I think there’s something about heater elements and Bosch 1 minute but can’t remember for sure. Either way, looks like you’ll have to haul it out 🙁 .

New carbons fitted (even though there was plenty of meat on the old ones) and a clean up of the motor and it’s now up and running, cheers.
