ParticipantYou’re probably not going to get too much out of me over the next few days. Hurrah, I hear them cry……
We were woken up by two policemen sticking their heads round our bedroom door at 04.30. House burgularised, Julia’s car stolen and destroyed. Laptops, Mp3s, Julias handbag, phone, cards all gone. They’ve nicked my keys as well, which is a pain as it’s a chipped van key; and my spare isn’t.
Still, managed to do 10 calls out of the back of the SAAB :rolls: .
Really, really tee’d off.
Chris.

Thats a real bummer Chris, even if they catch the scroats responsible they will only get a slap on the wrist.
If there is anything you need a help with give us a shout.

Chris
Sorry to hear of your trouble mate, I hope you get back to normal ASAP.
Jim’s probably right about slaps on the wrist’s if they catch e’m.
Have you considered a Dobbermann, they tend not to be a lenient as
our judicial system.Best Regards to you and Julia

Cheers Guys.
Sold 4 ISEs and was unable to deliver – have borrowed a van for Friday, so it’s all going to work out.
Went to the breakers to empty Julias car this afternoon – how anybody got out of it alive I will never know. 3′ off the bonnet, offside suspension ripped off, roof down by at least 6″, every panel deformed and all the glass bar the tailgate has gone. Absolute wreck.
I had been pretty calm about it all up ’til then – I must admit that I’m now bl@@dy angry.
Anyway, a medicinal beer will shortly be called for, there is definitely a time and place for it. The time will be 10.30 and the place will be The Station Inn.
Keep smiling, tomorrow will be a better day.
Chris.

I’ve calmed down now. A bit. Anyway, the van…….
Had a chat with the rather dim parts chap at my local Evans Halshaw.
“I want a key with a chip in it”
“It’s a lock set and three hours fitting.”
“How much?”
“Usually, about £600.”
😯 !So……. a bit of research on the Fiat forums and got a part number, back to EH, different dim parts person comes out. I give him a piece of paper with the part number on it.
“One of those, please.”He comes back with it! Yeah! £18 for a blank key. Off to Stantons with the key code (They can’t cut their own keys…..) – £4.50.
Young Jim lugged the van down to EH on his flatbed for £20, and EH plugged it all in and programmed it for another £83.
So, £125.50 for a key. Better than a lock set, I suppose.
Oh, had to take V5, Drivers Licence and Photo ID with me. A WTA card is acceptable photo ID!

😆
I find that rather funny in many ways as its obviously good enough and yet you can produce them for a couple of grand.
It’s a weird world in which we live…
Anyway it is really, really good to hear that you’re starting to get things sorted out Chris and, as ever, if there’s anything I can do just ask.
