Firstly apologies for posting this here but it seemed to be the right place for those who need to see this.Having decided to join the WTA last year I am a little surprised at the lack of communication I have had in light of that decision. From a time line point of view I completed a WTA application last November and sent in the completed membership application, two photographs of the people requiring WTA cards and a copy of our PLI. About a month passed when we receive a invoice from WTA dated 12th December a cheque for the requested amount sent back by return which was subsequently cashed.
I was then expecting some form or information pack and our two WTA membership cards complete with photo ID .
Fastforward now to February 2011 and have heard nothing more and have received nothing. Naturally one starts to wonder if they have just been overlooked or if something has gone amiss along the line, whatever the reasons currently it appears that we have paid a sum of money and received Zilch ?
Please forgive the direct approach of this post but having mailed one or two people I am still in the dark as to how this has occurred and more importantly what will happen to correct the situation as outlined ?

How come there’s this thing about “what’s in it for me?” all the time?
Since I’m an innocent bystander I can ask and say lots of things that I probably ought not to. 😉
Anyway, moving on, sort of…
What about the fact that the Amica work came with a proviso that you were DASA, WTA or RETRA… Amica’s rules, not any of the associations mentioned or UKW or ISE or anyone else?
Or, plopping your name and whatnot on the WTA site?
Or, highlighting WTA members for anything else that comes about?
Or, the fact that your service will be measured in a fair way using customer feedback on a scoring system recognised by some institute of consumer service? (i.e. not a made up system)
Or, even all the stuff Lawrence said.
Sorry squadman, couldn’t resist throwing in some of the stuff the TA guys couldn’t or wouldn’t say because they’re too polite or whatever. I’m not that polite, especially this late in the day. 😉
But what I can never figure out is really, really simple…
Why is it that people ask, “what did I pay this money for?” when it’s the wrong question to ask.
The correct question to ask is, “what do you do with the money and what can we do collectively?”.
The answer to that question is much more interesting than “why didn’t I get a glossy brochure that cost loads to print and made me feel better but just eats up cash for no discernible benefit to anyone?”.
And, let’s face it, it’s £70. Hardly a king’s ransom.
But I’d urge you to talk to the TA people at the upcoming meeting about that and not on here. It’s a better medium for such discussions IMO.
Que, lively debate…
K.
