ParticipantHi,
This is my first post to the forum. My family owned a factory in Egypt that produced washing machines, unfortunately the factory is closing down and I have ~3000 automatic washing machines motors that (as I was told) don’t fit into the newer generation of washing machines found in the Egyptian market. Any idea if those can be of use in any other country/market? Or may be they can be altered for a completely different use?The motors were manufactured by Ana IMEP in Romania. You can find a picture of the motor below. Thanks for your help.

They would not be able to be re-used or modified in any way but 3,000 such motors here in the UK would have a good scrap value.

Can I ask what brand name your Washing Machines had ?
That type of motor is ‘old school’ BUT is still popular in Spain where I own a small retail shop
I have dealings with Moroccan clients whom also may have specialist knowledge as they are geographically closer ?
Also please send a photo of the electrical part ( i.e where it receives the electric plug from the washing machine ) That will help identify it
Do you have anything else ?February 25, 2016 at 12:19 pm #435764mashour111

@Martin, thanks for the information.
@Melec. The washing machine’s name was Queen Gi, it was done with the technical co-operation of Siltal in Italy. Please find attached photos of the electrical part. We have also modified some of the motors for use with a different type of washing machines.Unmodified Motor:

I also have ~2500 gearbox for alternating washing machines. Thanks for your help.

Looks like the same motors that were fitted to the Spanish made 1980`s Newpol and possibly San Giorgio machines. I wired one to power a belt driven lathe at tumble speed and then a fast speed with a rheostat to slow/fast control so they do have some use.
