I’ve seen several Hotpoint condeser dryers that are caked in a white powder in the backplate covering the elements. Sometimes it’s a right mess in there. Clearly water is getting into them somehow but how and why? A couple of times I’ve noticed the dryers where in confied spaces – could it be owt to do with that?
Re: What causes white powder in the back of Hpt condeser dry
I have seen this often, sometimes the heater/fan cover is full of wet fluff type gunge. I wonder if it could be caused by the user putting very heavy newish towels/bedding etc that have not been spun well enough. Could the moisture levels be to high for the heat exchanger to cope with in this instance. ❓
