ParticipantHad a weird one yesterday.
Customer rang for a Candy C1261, door won’t close. When I got there quite a frail looking woman, but when I tried the washer door (several times) no problems. As I had another call around the corner I didn’t charge her thinking that if there is a fault it will reoccur.
Writing up the call on the driveway she came back out to say it won’t close again. This time I let her show me what she did. She’s convinced there’s a fault (there isn’t) and I’m telling her to put some weight behind the push (all five stone 🙁 ).
The machine is V poorly sited as well, the front being about two feet from a wall behind a dishwasher 😯 so she can’t lean onto it.
How do you tell someone that on a machine they’ve operated fine for years, that it’s now too difficult to do. There’s obviously some underlying medical problem as she literally has no strength.Tony C

If you are 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain there is no fault , I ‘d ask the old lady if she has a friend or relation that you could explain the problem with on the telephone.
Maybe even ask them to go round and try closing the door on the machine with a reasonable amount of force .Bryan

Over the years I have had a few older clients with this can’t close the door problem. Just last week an older customer with arthritis called saying she could not close door, as it was an older Hotpoint I thought it might be a pecker adjustment job.
Anyway turns out everthing with machine is OK so as with other older clients I showed her how to close door by first pushing door to body of machine with by hand then using knee giving a gentle push. She tried this and hey presto she did it, she was chuffed as anything.
