I am interested in how people percieve tradesmen especially us and wonder if we may be missing a trick
I wear polo shirts with my logo ,dickies wrk combat trousers and dickies protective toe boots ,with a matching fleece in winter ,Just recently I was talking to a customer who had a bad experience with an engineer ,
when I asked why she had then come to me she said that her friend had recommended me as not only had I done a good job but I also “looked”like I knew what I was doing .
It made me think about the whole area of presentation ,My opinion used to be as long as you were clean and got the job done then people didn’t care what you looked like ,but I think I may be changing…Lawrence

I have boiler suits but must admit I don’t always wear them. It tends to be jeans and lumberjack shirt with or without a fleece. The other repairers I’ve met have also just worn casual clothes. I would never turn up at someones house wearing shorts though.

Seriously though, clean and tidy, usually decent jeans, sweatshirt and a bomber type work jacket.

Yes indeed, navy blue over here too.:tup: Navy blue heavy duty work trousers (not scruffy denim jeans – common tradesmen yuck! :rolls: ):stir:
Navy woollen v-neck sweaters with company logo), pale blue collared shirts (with company logo) Black steel-capped work trainers to complete the ensemble. 8)
One of my local competitors, their lads all wear black (the MIB’s maybe?) T-shirts with yellow/gold logo, black trousers (again no scruffy jeans for them either). Now they do look pretty smart I must say, and charge their customers accordingly….oh yes!
Maybe black is the new blue?
Be smart – win their heart, be scruffy and you look a duffy!!! 😈

Blue trousers blue poloshirt trainers looks great leaving the house in the morning, But after a couple of calls you get coverd in dogs hair smelling of stagnant water out of the dishwashers Not a prety sight for the afternoon calls. 🙂 🙂

portwest trousers with built in knee pads company polo shirts,jumper or fleece depend on weather.So many people comment that they get confidence if you look the part.one guy up here if he knocked on my door i would close the curtains a right state!!!.

Just shorts?? mmm.. nice. Me, its whatever undies ‘er indoors leaves lying around & boiler suit on top, nobody can tell 😯

I missed you guys as well 😥 ; I just wasn’t up to it under the circumstances. Much too soon. Even the prospect of Cher didn’t appeal. Hopefully I’ll be there in February feeling a bit better 🙂 .

Seriously though, it’d be really good to see you there. There’s more than a few people that have been asking after you as they are concerned that you’re okay. I’m sure you will know the guys that care more than a little.
