    Hello all !

I have YET ANOTHER problem with my Ariston AWD12SUK’s (!) washer / dryer.

I have tried searching forums for 13 flashes.. but searches return no results…

My machine is not spinning, and its giving 13 flashes of the LED whilst the dial spins…

Does anyone know what 13 flashes mean ??

I’ll soon have the complete list !!

SO far the machine has had a new TOC thermostat thingy, a new dryer element, new drum bearings and seal, and recently new brushes….

And now the pox-ridden thing is giving me this 13 flash error !

So far I think I have experienced 2 flashes, 5 flashes and 8 flashes !

Thanks to everyone here for their help.

    Steve

PS I think someone should put up some stickies listing all the error codes (if they have them)

It means that the dryer NTC (temperature sensor) is out of circuit. Power off, lid off, locate the round sensor on top of the heater box. Standard fault is the wiring breaking at the connectors. NTC should give a reading in kOhms, just in case it is actually faulty.

W can’t publish the full list of Error Codes, as the information is copyright to The Indesit Company.

Thats great I Cant thank you guys enough for how much help you’ve been with my “piece-of-junk” washer !

So now (thanks to all the assistance from this site), I have fitted a new temperature sensor on the drum, a new dryer heater element, new bearings, new shaft seal and new brushes !!

On the last fault someone said to me that its unlikely to be brushes as these indesit machines rarely last long enough to wear out the brushes !! 🙂 I can see what they mean !!

When I fitted the new dryer heater element, I checked the resistance of the temp sensor mounted above it with a digital meter and noticed that it changed even with just placing my thumb on it… so I assumed it was ok….

Although its quite possible that my recent replacement of the heater element disturbed connections to the sensor….

Will check it out… would any reading in the Kohms range indicate its ok or should I be looking for something a little more specific ?
Have noticed that the washer goes into fault almost immediately so its obviously checking that the sensor is in place and at the correct resistance – it doesnt matter if I set it to wash cycle or dry or spin etc.

Thanks again for all your help – am just hoping that I can keep one more machine from going to landfill !!

    Sorry.. one other question…

If its the NTC for the dryer heater element, is this the correct item to purchase… because I realise that there is an NTC for the drum (water temp) and the dryer heater…
C00080767 – Hotpoint & Other Washer Dryer Temperature Sensor Price: £5.11

    THanks again

Yup sure enough, as soon as i gently tugged at the wires on the NTC one of them came away in my hand.
Reterminated and connected and its now merrily churning away again !
Thanks for saving me a £90 call out ONCE AGAIN !!
