The wife’s hoover H160E has stopped working. The lights at the front are on,but when you select a programme the drum does the initial turn and the water comes in a normal, but then it does nothing else.
I checked the troubleshooter section in the handbook that says that the rcd may have tripped and to reset rcd.
What is a rcd and where can i find it on this machine?

The RCD is part of your house electrics, “trip switch” is another description for it, normally in the fuse box but that isn’t the problem 😉

It may be the carbon brushes have worn down in the motor.

If you are going to check this yourself, power off please :zap: or check Repairs@ for an engineer.
