has to be the tin used to stash the battered £1 coins from the sumps, often raided for the aquisition of a bacon sarnie when wallet left at home – or to pay the bridge tolls in edinburgh and glasgow.

LOL, I thought it as only me that did that, as well as filling the passenger footwell with assorted discarded food wrappers. 😉

Welcome to the site by the way.

Getting ovens out onto a Black & Decker Workmate is no fun, so I designed this infinitely adjustable table many years ago.

Adjusts between 50cms up to 95cms to cover all eventualities.
There is enough table space to allow me to stand on it to work on the controls too!

A very handy tool that doesn’t quite fit in my box though 🙁

LOL, why would you need to stand it on it to work on the controls then Martin ? 😆

And, make me a couple when you have a spare half hour please 😉

Been using them for the past 10 years Martin. 😉

Best 2 items in my toolbox: zanussi tub spring hook tool custom made by an ex colleague of mine, much easier than shoe laces, string, old belt etc. also works well on dishwasher springs. My other favorite is the small bit of rubber pressure hose which is perfect for removing screws/nails when they get wedged between the drum lip & tub front on zanussi/lux/aeg wm’s – havent had to separate a tub for this in years also good for clearing defrost drains in fridges.

Martins oven stand might be handy for doing older type dishwashers if it had a big hole in the table top. You could also have a shallow drip tray in the base and use it for tracing D/W leaks. 🙂

Have a continuity/induction tester ,powered by 2 hearing aid batteries. Ideal for fuses, checking for power at a socket outlet or finding a break inside extension leads.

10cc hyperdermic syringe (without needle) filled with general purpose grease. Great for those hard to get to moving parts that could do with a spot of lube, and drain pump mounting bolts that never come out after the pump has leaked for a few months.

Pocket sized gas blow torch. Like a serious electronic cigarette lighter (1300 degC). Good for soldering, bending plastic parts, heating a stubborn bearing race off a shaft and the occasional smoke break.

You know, that’s incredibly reassuring Andy. What are you – 4-5 thousand miles away? It’s the same the whole world over!

Possibly not the most useful tool in my toolbox, very handy though. Question is, does anyone know what it is for. This is exactly as it was supplied to me when I was first employed by a leading white goods manufacturer, many, many years ago. 😉

sorry for slightly blurred pic. 🙂
