What washer/dryer

I will be moving into our new house which has a small utility room and doesn’t have room for both washing machine and dryer. Long term I will get a shed and put a proper dryer in there. In the short term I think i’ll just get a washer/dryer.

I know they are not reliable etc but at the moment I do not have a option. I am presently living in an apartment with a bog standard Indesit which has caused a few problems.

Budget is about €500 – €600 and would put a wash on every second day as have a baby.

Difficult one this :rolls:

If you spend little as it’s only potentially short term you won’t get reliability or build quality. If you buy the best which is the Miele you are on overkill unless of course you keep it long term. If you take the middle ground ie Bosch you will get a good all rounder.

Do you have room for a small compact dryer? If you can muster a 20″ square by 22″ high area I would get the washing machine of your’e choice backed up by the small dryer.

a warm breeze drys better than most washer driers. either go for an £800 bosch, £1200 miele or stick with a washing machine, and get a dinky 3kg vented dryer for £150!

Mod edit: Removed slang for wind as it may cause offence.

I think I might go for a Bosch as Im concerned about the repair costs for a Miele.

Any particular Bosch (or Miele) that you’d recommend?
Any particular compact dryer that you’d recommend?

Miele only make the WT2780 in freestanding.

Bosch WVH28360GB washer dryer.

Hotpoint V3D01P front vented compact dryer.
White knight WK38AW rear vented compact dryer.

Cheers. The Miele is out of price range. I cant seem to source the Bosch one in Ireland – any other suggestions?

Strange as it’s on the Bosch Ireland website here if you can’t obtain that particular model then yes the WVD would be an alternative.
