If it was myself and a standard Bosch washer, Might be borderline .
Simple answer put the machine in the lift and send it up by itself.

    Re: whats heavier?

Lift for six adults, say an average weight of 12 stone 😀

Thats around 460 Kgs. Our very own ISE 10 weighs in at 78kgs and thats a heavy beast. That gives you 382 kilos to play with or around 60 stone. 😯

Always makes me laugh when I see ‘A maximum of 8 persons’ notice in a lift or similar. Is that 8 Laurels or 8 Hardys. 😆

I’ve had this at some posh flats on Bournemouth seafront; metal fire escapes; service lift that doesn’t go down to the basement and the last remaining members of the Gestapo posing as porters in the foyer.
I find that if you trolley the machine to the foot of the stairs and then proceed to instruct the porter where to hold the machine to safely lift the machine up the stairs with you. Before they can answer, mention that you are mindful of the health and safety risk that this job entails and that the likelyhood of you or the machine being damaged was very high.
If that fails, then contact the customer in front of the porter on your mobile and say that you can’t deliver the machine as arranged because you are unable to use the lift. Customer will nearly always side with you.
They always huff and puff as it is their pride you are hurting rather than the lift, and in all cases for me they have always backed down.

    yip seems strange..

they could be moments from safety , and then be made to go back into the lift , back up to their rooms..

bit of a bummer if its your room thats on fire..

old people you gotta love em

    Re: whats heavier?

As an Ex Lift engineer of 20years plus standing, let me re-assure you that the design loading of the average lift. Is, in old money, 150lbs per person per sq/ft. This of course takes account that it is just possible to stand an adult in a single square foot, a second person is cosy, a third as the saying goes is crowded. A fourth we are bordering on intimate. Five is an orgy.

So for the sake of decency all lift manufacturers designate a the load plate of the lift to allow for a “strangers comfort zone”. But it still has a design load of 150lb / sqft.

So you can put you Bosch in and sit on it for both comfort and security.

Interestingly the thing that is always replaced the most often is the load plate. Especially those saying Max Load 2 persons or 3 persons. I can’t think why they kept disappearing.
