Whats the best product to clean a smelly washing machine

I got a hotpoint aqualtis aqxxf149pm and for the past few months i have noticed my clothes smelling damp when they have been dryed and i thought it was because my girlfriend was leaving them in a pile :rolls: So since we have a f_05 fault code i took a look at the machine and i noticed the inside of the waste pipe was coverer in brown gunk and the machine absolutely stinks. So i have removed the wasted pipe from the pump and removed most of the brown gunk out from there but should i tip a bottle a bottle of white vinegar in the washing powder draw and wash at the highest setting or should i use a different product.
