ParticipantHere’s a challenge for you. I bet this thread doesn’t run a fraction as long as the “annoying things they do” thread 🙂
Apart from giving you a tip, the nicest thing is when an old lady asks if you want a drink of tea and returns several minutes later with a large tray, with a pot of properly made tea, milk and sugar – and a plate of bickies 🙂
I reckon I’ve got it covered, there isn’t anything else nice that they do is there? 😉

When u accidentally aim for wrong room in house instead of kitchen, and the lady customer says ” Thats the bedroom, you can go in there if you like” and then thinks what she has just said, goes reddish and shows you appliance and disappears.
Bit off topic but had to share 😆

KeymasterYeah, a customer sent me in a nice bottle of brandy just at Christmas there because I sorted out a problem for her with a certain Korean manufacturer. She even gave Robert some beer as well.
They ain’t all bad, just the majority of them. 😆

A lady customer was cooking lunch for herself and her husband. I happened to say “Oh! that smells good, I feel hungry now!” Next thing I know she’s set a place for me at the table has served up a plate full of Stew & dumplings, and I ate a hearty meal. (Better than the muck the wife dishes me up back home at least :rotfl: )

I suppose the thing I appreciate most from customers is when they recommend me to their friends and family. I also enjoy the hospitality of old ladies with their tea and home baking, although I notice they usually only produce this when they’ve paid the bill (they don’t want to be charged for my tea drinking time). Since I relocated to Scotland most of my friends are people I got to know as customers.

Had half a dozen proper fresh eggs from a farm last week. All different sizes and still covered in s**t. Duracell they weren’t.
Had two with me Sunday treat yesterday morning. Luvverly.Tony C

Whilst I was working for Hotpoint in 1972, 3 different customers gave me wedding presents. 🙂

I lovely, sweet, old, regular customer told me the other day, ‘You’ve lost a heck of alot of weight, haven’t you?’
I said ‘Err, have I?’
She said ‘You look shorter too!’
She was thinking of my fat b#####d brother who used to work for us. :rotl:
I call that a compliment.
Sweet, old ladies make this job worth while, and the best thing is a great brew with a big pile of bickies. Once I even got some home-made parkin cake.

Living in rural Somerset I get given home grown veg, wine, eggs. Just yesterday was offered some homemade fruit cake but had to decline because I had just eaten. That did`nt stop her though, she duly wrapped it up in some foil and gave it me to take home. I love my customers and my job.
But taking a lead from gegsey`s experience. Quite a number of years ago I was just leaving a customers house, she was standing at the door saying goodbye to me and I was smiling and thanking her and saying goodbye also when half way down the path she voices those imortal words you`ve always wanted to hear, “I expect you satisfy all your women”. Realisation dawns, the door closes behind her…I was never invited back 😥
