THE ENGINEERS DISCRETION ,We kicked up a stink and now his paper work has on it that he must ring us B4 calling and call Tue AM .
How many calls do we get that require us to ring a mobile beforehand ,If you are anything like us an ever increasing amount I bet !

Don’t start me off on this little nugget Lawrence 😉

Basically the way I see it is this: This was always going to happen and due to customer demand we will have to go along with it to keep customers happy, but at the end of the day it all costs money and if customers request this service they will have to pay for it.

I take it in to account when I review our annual service call rate and build it in to the price on chargeable calls.

I do however take the hump on insurers/manufacturers/WP’s who only give us a mobile number to phone or insist we phone 30 mins B4 etc then when I advise them that a rate review is required, refuse to enteratain it.

So, we have increased costs piled on us but we don’t get a rate increase to compensate……….

Where have I heard all this before then ? 😉

I told you not to get me started !

I have to admit that this is one of my pet hates (I have a few ;)) and you’re spot on Lawrence, it is an increasing problem. However, as is often the case, it appears that there is one set of rules for OEM service and a totally different set for the independent engineer. 🙁

I wouldn’t mind, but I always though that engineers were out to repair appliances, not be mobile telephone receptionists.

I leave a message saying that if they dont ring me back within 5 mins I will leave the call to be re scheduled
