ParticipantJust thought the heading would attract his attention at least :rotfl:
Anyway, having spoken at length with layed back Yorkshireman very recently, I now fully appreciate the position he and others in similar circumstances hold and are faced with in trying to maintain a decent living within this industry.
Especially the anonymity aspect, that I now fully appreciate its importance more than ever now 😉
I just thought I would let you know Flipper that as I am not in any way faced with the same restrictions as such in my limited capacity within the trade, I feel I can at least help voice any concerns you and your colleagues may have in the future on your behalf.

This just goes to show how important the national meetings are and even more so, how important a chat over a few pint’s is.
The thing is, that you can only convey so much via a text post on a web site, especially when you are not as comfortable as some are, with keyboard skills.
It is also very easy for someone to think they are helping a situation on behalf of another, when in actual fact unbeknowingly( is that an actual word ?) they might be doing the complete opposite.
I am not too sure that I am explaing myself correctly but I feel that it is one reason why some members involved more heavily with corporate work, are not posting as much as they used to in the war room.
What we need to do is to get pissed with one another more often so we all get a better understanding of where each one of us is comin’ from.
as ever jmho

ParticipantWhat our laid back Yorkshire friend specifically said was that he didn’t trust the War Room – I hope he meant from a security point of view.
All in favour of beer though……

It was not my intention to slight anyones integrity. It’s just that trust is something that is built up over time and is given far more freely to others sitting in the same boat.

Chris.
Don’t anybody take this wrongly, I do implicitly trust everyone who posts in here but ?
In the context of anying that is said or anything that is typed could get into the wrong hands or be spoken in the wrong ear. When your treading on a knife edge, or are not performing as is expected for certain work providers, you have to watch your step (As I explained to Martin I am not just looking after me, I am looking after 38 staff and families and will be doing for another 25 years).
I do recall at least one point when a non- war room member got access, how do we know it is not happened since or what happens if it gets hacked ( not beyond the realms of possiblity), or what happens if one of us becomes a turncoat ?
As well as this I have been very busy for the last few months thats one of the another reasons I have been ‘silent’…..
I am sure Dave or Ken will be able to tell u all , but I do virtually view every trade post . If I see anything that I want to add to then I will.
Dont forget Martin thru in the towel b4 he was in the war room , and that was with threatening phone calls . What would happen if people got access to TWR.

In Flips defence, I concur and am only too aware why he is reticent at times.
One thing I applaud him for, he attends every meeting and I know he takes an avid interest in the site. We could do with more of these large agents with his background.
I am well aware of the culture that some of us live under, and at times we are on thin ice. I’m trying to say this in a guarded manner, but I would like to think you all know why on occasions we have to keep our heads down.
