ParticipantWe have a 14 year old AEG Lavamat 610 which needs new brushes. One of them is shiny, the other dull so has been sparking. There’s no action from the motor in spin or wash.
The E.Nr is 605 637 104 and F.Nr 024 984 327.
Do you sell the appropriate brushes?
We intend to replace the machine soon as there are a number of other things that aren’t working so well on it. We want a quiet machine with greater capacity – 7kg or more, and possibly a washer dryer as we are re-organising our laundry area. We’re interested in quality and lifetime rather than price – up to a certain point. Any good machines out there, ones to avoid etc?

Have a look at This selection. you need to identify the type of motor used in your machine as different motors were fitted to some models.
As for ‘we need a 7kg or larger’ have a read of this article. Load size
And as for washer dryers. Don’t buy one

Thanks, I’ve ordered some brushes which look the right shape etc.
I’ll read and digest your guides; however on first looking at the washer/dryer article there are a few links which are broken, perhaps with machines which are no longer available. They could do with a quick review.

A bit like most washer dryers, things keep breaking down. :rolls: did you notice the Miele link is the only one still working. 😉
Thanks for the heads up. 🙂

Brushes arrived, thanks.
Unfortunately the plastic housing was a different shape: the pips on the bottom were a different size and spaced differently, and the brushes were cut the wrong way.
The good news is that the internal metal housing, brush and connector were identical so I put the new brushes in the old housing and am doing an empty cycle to wear them in.
I used some 1000 grit sandpaper to clean up the commutator which was black. There was some scoring evident on it. Sanded down the corners of the new brushes. There’s some noise when the motor is running, a high-pitched buzzing. It does sound like it’s changing as the brushes bed in.
Thanks again for your help.

On its fourth wash now and the motor is quiet again – no buzzing at all.
Thanks again for your help.
