Hello, I’ve just joined. I need a cooker hood and was going to buy a Samsung HC6347BG, until I saw what you had to say about Samsung.
I chose this model as it is more powerful than a lot, relatively quiet and doesn’t have sharp corners. We’ve all cracked our heads on my previous one! It also has 2 grease filters, which seems a good idea and doesn’t cost silly money.
Please can you advise me? Is there a better one? It is to go in a good size kitchen/diner.

    Hi

You pay your money you take the chance as the majority are made in 3 factories and then just have a badge put on them.

If you want a good one then you will need to pay for it i’m afraid.

    Elica is a good choice.

After that as Bryan says, the cost goes up… a lot.

Thanks kwatt. I’d sort of forgotten them. My last one was Elica, very basic inexpensive type that fitted under a wall cupboard. It was still working well, 20 years on, when we moved last year.

Yeah, they go from very low level right up to pretty expensive just before you get into the mega money ones.

They are a good all round bet in hoods though.
