ParticipantHi,
I am looking to buy an integrated fridge-freezer with the following requirements.
Frost free for both fridge and freezer. Don’t want the hassles of manually defrosting the ice that’s collected and then draining and mopping the water
I don’t store a lot of meat but store fish and some other ready-made food articles that need to be frozen. Currently don’t have any requirements for storing special foods or medicines.
I Will be using the fridge to store a lot of vegetables, salads and fruits.A separate container or unit space to separately store non-veg articles would be desirable but this feature is not ESSENTIAL.
I am not sure how much a good quality fridge-freezer would cost but I am willing to spend as much as 700 – 800, maximum of 900 ( inclusive of added warranties/service etc).

Hi
For that sort of budget go for the Liebherr range of appliances . Cracking machines that will outlast anything else currently on the market.

Is there any particular popular model that would be good ?
Are there any retailers around in Basingstoke which I should consider. I don’t mind travelling to Southampton or Reading or Guilford if there are known and trusted ones that could give a good deal .
I will be trying the Reading Warehouse in Tadley are there any others ?

That depends on the size of housing you are considering and how you would like the split ie 50/50 60/40 etc fridge to freezer.coolusee wrote:

These are retailers who belong to this trade association which has been going for the last 50 plus years. They can be trusted to give impartial advice, excellent service before and after the sale.

I was having a look at the Liebherr models and I am basically keen on the 60-40 combination fridge-freezers with frost-free freezer and auto-defrost in the fridge. I have come across ICN 3056 and ICUNS 3013. Any idea on which is better?
The former has a ‘door-on-door’ door assembly but the latter has ‘door slider’ do I need to consider the pro-and cons for this while selecting the kitchen units ?I found very few options for the 60-40 in Neff, Seimens and Bosch.
AEG doesn’t have built-in frost-free at all
Are there any brands that are worth considering?
I have come across Zanussi ZBB 7294? Any idea on this one?October 20, 2008 at 8:50 am #265343 -
