    Im based in Leeds.

Was wondering which one to get, asthetics wise the ISE10 looks the best but is also the most expensive but with a 10 yr warranty.

Theres also the ISE-AW23, the ISE-5 which doesnt seem available on the whitegoods forum to buy only the ISE-AW23.

The ISE-5 seems to have a water plus feature allowing more water to be used on the wash cycle.

THey both claim 6kg wash load but after reading

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ge&pid=178

Is this really the case or is it just a marketing thing? Is it less than the 6kg? My current washer claims 6kg but in reality I can get about 4 in before clothes just turn at the bottom.

All in all which is the best machine? The ISE-5 seems cheaper and has the water plus feature, and the ISE10 looks nicer and carries the big warranty and also looks like a maytag with the same door.

Which is the most recent machine? Any reviews anywhere and why isnt the ISE-5 available to buy on the forum. Is this the oldest model and the ISE-AW23 replaced it?

    Kind regards
    Richard.

Re: Which ISE Washing machine to get

    Hi Richard,

    The ISE5-2 has been discontinued.

The AW23 serves as a replacement but with the option of a two year warranty reducing the cost, this was done in light of the current recession. That said, there’s more features on the AW23, the only sacrifice is dropping from 1600 to a 1400 spin.

Both the ISE10 and AW23 are 6kg rated, the 10 having a better drum design, under the EU system of labelling. They will be similar in capacity to most machines with that rating but, IMO, the 10 is better.

The ISE10 can be set, as a default, to do three rinses or to do five very easily depending on your requirements. Once set you then don’t need to touch it, it just does it all the time.

But that’s just it with the 10, it’s designed to be as easy as humanly possible to use, the idea being that you simply load it up, tell it what’s in it and press start… you’re done.

But, you’re kind of missing the point in a way…

The differences aren’t in functions or flashy features that you’ll probably hardly ever use or even in the aesthetics. The differences are largely under the skin, the ISE10 being built to a much higher standard as the price allows for that. It really is that simple.

    oK

So what features does the AW23 have that the ISE10 doesnt have?

The ISE10 looks the same and seems to have the same features as the maytag washer thats over here at the moment.

So why wouldnt you get the maytag as they are in similar prices.

I live with one other adult.

Would be good to see some more photos of the AW23 perhaps inside the drum etc.

Re: Which ISE Washing machine to get

The AW23 doesn’t have that many more features over the ISE10.

An LCD display with a bit more info if you want it. Extra rinsing and wash intensity options and that’s all that really springs to mind.

Some of the Maytag machines are also made by Asko but I’m unfamiliar with their range or specs, I’ve no call to know as I’m not really that interested in what Maytag do, just as I also pay little attention to Miele. 😉

If you’re only doing 3-4 loads per week the AW23 will cope with that quite happily, no problem.

The 10 is just better. A lot better in many ways in my opinion. But then, it’s also a lot more expensive on the face of it however you have to consider that the design life of a 10 is over double that of an AW23 (nearly three times in fact) or, for that matter, most machines that are sub-£600 at least.

    Ok thanks for that.

Which one has the option to use more water.

I put a lot in my machine and there has been times where the clothes havent moved about cos there hasnt been enough water in there.

Re: Which ISE Washing machine to get

The AW23 has the option to use a higher fill level.

The amount of water however should have no bearing on the clothes moving, that’s down to motor action.

In most modern machines you won’t actually see water reaching the door or, if it does, it won’t be by much. Machines that use copious amounts of water are not exactly flavour of the month around the globe and, in order to meet the environmental targets water consumption must be reduced.

In most cases the result of this is, boiled down to basics, that many washing machines now take longer to wash and more care is required in their use to get the best or same results.

So how do the ISE machines do it in 1hr 15mins wash if they cant use as much water as old machines yet other machines take over 2hours to do a wash.

ANy chance of a user manual for both machines please?
