🙂 Hello, first post here. My Bosch washing machine set on fire this morning (the fire brigade had to come out 😯 ) and I urgently need a new machine. I have not much dosh and have to get it from Comet as they will give me 3 months interest free credit.
The two machines I am looking at are the Beko WMA520W and the Candy C514.
Does anyone know the reliability etc of these?

Are you serious or what? Never known a Bosch to catch fire or are you just teasing? 😉
Comet 3 months interest free credit? Really? 😯
If all of the above is true then forgive me and go for the Beko as the best buy 8)

😀 Martin, I promise all of the above is true!! It was a Bosch WFB 2005. It had been making a dreadful noise on the final spin for a few days. Got someone out to look at it. He couldn’t say what it was, only what it wasn’t (not the bearings, not the brushes in the motor, not another two things that I cant remember) but he advised it was on its last legs.
I kept coaxing “one last load” out of it. This mornings was a load too far!! Very embarrassing for me, had to ring 999 and TWO fire engines arrived with full noise and lights 😳 😳
Anyway said machine is now in the back garden and I need another.
Are Beko’s ok then? salesman wanted to talk me into the Candy but I know nothing about them.
And the deal at Comet is buy now, pay 3 months later so is, in effect, 3 months interest free!

The Beko is a better built machine and likely to be longer lasting. Do consider the extended warranty though as a good route to take 😉
Candy = Hoover, Hoover = Candy, poor quality and reliability IMHO 😉
