She went ape but I managed to calm her down by reminding her I have had a tetanus jab within the last few years which should hold good for me in many ways.

Martin, a Tetanus jab would have done you no good if the Legionella bacteria in that washing machine had gotten hold of you.

All a bit scary really when you sit and ponder over the idiotic risks many of us take in our working lives. We’ve touched on the subject of rodents invading machines a number of times in the past. I’ve dealt with hundreds of calls where rat and mouse urine and droppings cover machines I’ve been fixing, all the while without proper protection.

Washing machines and driers in so called ‘utility rooms’ but in effect just dog and cat kennels, covered in the usual animal muck. :rolls:

Well this old dog is learning a new trick from now on in and I’m gonna don a pair of these and not be so foolish as to put my health in any further jeopardy.

It begs the question though toward those that employ staff in this kind of ‘work’. Do they issue them with protective nitrile gloves I wonder? 😕

Don’t you just love Amazon, ordered the gloves @ 2:30 pm yesterday, arrived this morning at 08:55. I tested a pair out (field trials if you like 🙂 ) and they are just brilliant, they really are.

My customers looked a little hesitant at the sight of me putting a pair on ( bit tricky but wetting my hands first helped) *. 😯 But I find adding the much used phrase “…..’elf ‘n safety love, can’t be too careful in this job!”

    * Putting them on brought back memories long since passed of condoms and KY Jelly….. happy days! :clown:
