    Hi,

I am currently in the process of changing my kitchen and I am looking at buying a range cooker.
I have found two online one made by Belling and the other by Baumatic both in the region of £500-£800 this seemed to be very reasonable and although the prices are perfect for my budget I was worried that if I bought at this price I would be compromising on quality and also energy efficiency as unfortunately I can not afford cookers from Rangemaster/Mercury etc.

Does anyone know these makes of cooker or have any recommendations of other reliable makes that would not cost a fortune?
Any tips and advice would be much appreciated as I do not have any experience of range cookers

    Thank you

    Emily

    Hi emily

Out of the two I would go for the Belling. It`s better made and the back up is better IMO.

Just out of interest are you looking at all electric, gas or dual fuel ranges ? The better deals seem to be on the dual fual models, probably as there seem to be more of these about at the moment 😉

For a couple of hundred more I would get a Rangemaster …. or you could get one in a couple of years when you realise you wasted your money on the one you got, for the Belling its either going to be a rebadged Beko or a rebadged New World/Stoves cooker either way it will be rubbish and you will wish you had bought the Rangemaster, Belive me I have worked for both companies for 5 years + in the past, Rangemaster is far superior.

    Re: Which Range Cooker?

    Hi there

I work for an ext warranty co and we deal with all types here, for what it’s worth IMHO I would go with the Belling, yes RANGEMASTER are more expensive and therefore in some minds a better make but we ALWAYS have major problems with repairers trying to get parts for RANGEMASTER cookers and they do seem more expensive to repair as well.

We have a BELLING Duel Fuel Country Range cooker at home and have had it for about 3 years now, and (touchwood) to this day have never had a problem with it. For me it would be the BELLING I would go for as they say though “You pays your money and takes your choice”.

I would do a bit more research and make an informed decision before paring with your hard earned cash.
