ParticipantAfter a bit of discussing, (it was a no brainer – now we will have the space)
Which range is best to stock?
Only have one 90-110cm space available, but it will be front of shop, almost immediately in front of the door to display a range cooker.
What is the best to go for… FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES!
We dont have lot of room to store stock so the display range needs to be one of the most popular on the market, so we can sell that one in order to maintain reasonable cashflow. Currently umming and erring over going entry level and if a customer is interested, selling up to rangemaster or stoves etc.
Or could wade in at the expensive end and promote just a high-end range
Only problem i can see with the latter approach is its not an impulse purchase so a customer is more than likely happy to wait for a non-display model. Which means my main worry is stocking and displaying a rangemaster, bearing in mind their SRP’s, will more than likely alienate any customer thinking of upgrading from a standard 60. with a budget of up to £800
So would i be better off dispensing with a desirable “brand name” in order to show we can sell ranges to every customer or would i be better off stocking a rangemaster? This bearing in mind we have never had the space to stock a range.
I do have availability to graded GDHA and Indesit compay stock, which would obviously provide a positive towards stocking a budget range, because the display model could also be graded which allows for a higher spec for the same budget level
And for display purposes, should i go: Electric, Dual Fuel or All gas?
My business partners are pushing me towards stocking either a top of the range rangemaster (for just the brand name – havent told me which actual model we should stock :rolls: ) or something basic like the indesit 90 d/f 9028 i think !?
My personal opinion is go for definitely gas hob, in th ebudget range with prolly a 90cm moel in either double over or 3 door arrangement.
General customer feedback requests have always been for fans on the electric ovens, so leaning towards a new world 90dfdo for a permanent fixture unless anyone knows any reason why i shouldnt ? I also need to justify choosing the NW over the rangemaster to my “others” before we get it in
Cheers for all your feedback,
Rich

Hi gandh1
As this appliance is going to have your most expensive square footage right by the door there are several factors to consider IMO in getting it right.
If you have lots of walking traffic going past on a daily basis you may want to have a “statement ” machine like a stainless steel range.
If on the other hand you rely on customers coming through your door due to your advertising then you may want to play safe in your choice.
The other area to consider is the age range of your customers, older generations will normally go for a traditional machine as opposed to the thirty somethings who will probably be looking for stainless steel and a talking point.
I would probably go for a Rangemaster as they cover so many styles, colours and sizes. Dual fuel would be my fuel choice.
Decisions decisions…..
Don 🙂
