Unfortunately they (Beko) seem to be fitting plastic welded drums to the entry level models now 😥 was at a WM5120 today removing a collection of objects from the pump & spotted a welded tub.
So thats just about every make i can think of now using these things :rolls: Was at a Zan 6kg machine on Monday, 18 months old, bought in the local co-op for £250, half inch of play in the bearings.Oh dear, is this the lifespan we’ve arrived at with white goods? Amusing to think we were all shocked when the design life of appliances started heading towards the 5 yr mark several years ago.. now that looks like a bloody good innings 😯

Not ideal but on a plus, those zanussi tubs and the sodding bolts, nice to have just a drop in tank without the faff 😆

True enough Greg, in fact im fixing this fellows machine with a good tub i rescued from an identical machine which was BER with a duff PCB (all they had done to ruin that one was turn it off during spin 😯 )
Whipped the drum out of the donor machine in 10 mins, hopefully it will go back in in half hour or so ❓
Thing is, had i not had a good drum it would be heading for the tip, too expensive on a £250 machine lets face it.Anyhow, returning to the subject of the thread, i do actually recommend Beko to those wanting a basic machine, by & large they’re engineer friendly 🙂

Haier, aka Haus aka HEC have splitable drums but as I found out yesterday the pulley bolt, with a torx head is made of butter (just so soft the torx rounds off the head) and no way can it be removed so if you go to one take a new bolt. Also they have 14mm 😕 nuts for the concrete weights and you need a deep socket too. Didn’t get any further to find out what other cr*p I will find when I get to split it.
