    Hello,

I have integrated garage and looking for a dryer to go there. My requirement is simple, the machine should be reliable, economical and should do the job efficiently.
I have gone through few posts and have found that sensor based Vented one is best suited for garage mainly considering temperature requirements. There is a hole in the garage which can be used for ventilating outside.
Any particular brand/model recommended? Is there anything in particular I should be aware of?

    Hi

The best one will be a vented with no sensors and a mechanical timer. Sensors need an ambient temperature in which to work usually around the 5 degrees C mark.

Beko and White Knight would be my two choices as both are good value, easy to repair and inexpensive.

One other thing to watch out for when sited in a garage etc. If you do use a vented dryer make sure the large vent hose leaves the dryer level or hangs down, do not have the hose going out of the vent well above the dryer. If you don’t do this then the cold weather will cause the vent hose to fill with condensation which can run back into the dryer and cause damage, even worse if the hose has a large U bend in it that can fill completely with water and block off the outlet.

    Thanks Don and iadom.

One thing I am worried about is creases in cloths. Don’t like cloths full of creases and don’t have time to iron day to day clothes. Mainly our cloths are cotton.

    Hi

In the main the spin speed on the washing machine decides how creased the clothes will be. If you don’t have time to iron and your machine has variable spin you could reduce back to 1000. Of course this would then mean the drying time will be longer which in turn costs more.

Some consumers will try to cheat and wash cottons on a delicate cycle which will automatically set a slow spin. This then opens up another little can of worms in that as the wash action is lighter cottons don’t get washed properly.

Sadly from your point of view there is no quick option.

You could employ someone to do the ironing for you though ๐Ÿ˜†

Don, thanks for your reply. However I was asking for Dryer only and not for washing.

Re: Which tumble dryer for garage?

Thanks Don. For my knowledge, there are dryers in the market which claims to have anti crease functionality. Are they really effective?
I am aware that they might not be suitable for garage but itโ€™s good to know.

The anti crease is when the machine ends the cycle the drum will periodically rotate to reduce further creasing until the door is opened.
