    Hi drummonkey,

    Martin is spot-on too!

Out of curiosity from where did you purchase the Sebo X4? (If you are thinking ‘nosey cow’, then it’s well known on here that you are correct 😆 )

What a shame there’s a filter on here to prevent the use of strong language! :violent:

    Hi drummonkey,
Let us know if you can presuade your fiancee to keep the best vac she will ever use or if you have to purchase a cylinder Sebo which is obviously better than most but not up to the Sebo X4!

    Re: Which Vacuum Cleaner?

Hi guys thanks for the advice, I shall update you on the saga eventually once we’re sorted. Although I can see us heading for a Miele upright now but I’m not certain yet!

In answer to some of the questions, I’m not sure where I purchased it now but it was from someone based in Leicestershire that much I can remember.

I don’t use the long hose as even I think thats a pain in the ass :eeek: it hangs off the vacuum when not in use and has a tendency to come off when used.

I do agree with her that it is a design flaw, I also think strangely enough that being left handed (as she is) doesn’t help (well being marked by the devil could do anyones head in 😉 ) but i’m loathe to splash out the cash on another one when like you say this is one of the best out there.

We shall see, in the mean time, I’m doing all the vacuum cleaning now and to be honest I do a better job so that may well be the best solution!!

    Cheers

    Al

    Cheers,

    Re: Which Vacuum Cleaner?

My nephew in the USA has got a Roomba 555 robot vac and apparently it is the way forward in avoiding having to vac around the house. Now I’m well up for that and am considering buying one from Nebraska Furniture Mart when I next go back to the US later this year. Meanwhile, has anyone here got one? They are not cheap over here at around £340 but thought I’d ask anyway on the off-chance so to speak. 😀

Don’t get the Miele upright, I’m very disappointed with mine as their is a design fault with the underside. I have returned 4 times for repair and whilst their service is outstanding the machine has just failed again. In less than six months ownership. I’m approaching Miele for a refund and hope to buy a Sebo.

The Miele is great when it works but I’m sick of sending it back every month

    Missed that Martin.

Yes, I do have a Roomba. Technology, me… go figure. 😉

It’s okay but the Sebo isn’t getting retired anytime soon. It does as a “refresh” but apart from that, not so hot.

    Re: Which Vacuum Cleaner?

My nephew in Nebraska has one of these and I must say I was very impressed how efficient is was. It has moveable limit sensors you can put around the room to prevent it going where you don’t want it to go and when the battery is getting low it finds its way to the charger to recharge…blo**dy brilliant!

He has a couple of dogs and a huge 90 inch plasma movie cinema room. After watching Harry Potter on Bluray one evening the carpet was awash with dog hairs. No probs, switched on the Roomba and left it to clear up after we retired for the night.

That’s got to be the way forward surely…? 🙂

P.S. Didn’t buy one out there as the power supply is only available there at 110v…bu$$er…! 👿
