    Hi Everyone

OK i know this has probably been asked a billion times already, so i will hold my breath and ask away.

My mum needs to buy a new washing machine as her old Electra one bearings and motor have given up the ghost. She wants a Bosch or Miele. I know that Miele are way overpriced, so i think she would probably go for a Bosch. Which leads to my question . Which Bosch to get.
It doesnt have to be an action packed machine, or massive capacity, about 6Kg no less. With quick wash and fast spin options as dog blankets sometimes have to go through it.
Im vaguely aware that not all Bosch machines are the same in terms of build quality depending on what factory they come from, so What are the model numbers to buy and what are the ones to avoid like the plague.
She has also been told by an engineer to consider Zanussi. She knows to avoid Hotpoint, Indesit, Hoover, Candy etc.
So any help greatly welcomed guys, would like to buy it before the vat rise happens on 1st Jan.

    Cheers and Happy Christmas

    Mike

No do not want an ISE thankyou.

Just to reiterate, what model(s) of Bosch or Miele are good to get. Is Zanussi worth considering ?

    Thanks

To be honest, it is not possible to recommend any particular model.
You pay your money and hope for the best.
I think the meile comes with a 5 year warranty form John Lewis.

The basic Bosch Classixx range is a good all round range of 6kg machines, the Exxcell`s give you slightly more programme options and a 7kg load size while the Logixx gives 8kg load size addditional programmmes and the unique teardrop drum. A good article on load size here is a real opener. All Bosch come with a two year warranty, a good all round bet.

Miele are well known to be well produced machines which will last, however it is well documented that service is restricted and the spares are expensive. Miele will be offering a promotional five year warranty on selected machines from Jan 1st to the 31st.

Zanussi is not a bad range just not as good as they used to be IMO.

    HTH 🙂

and to add to dons list, it might be worth giving a 7kg drum siemens a shot as some will also come with a 5 year warranty if you require peace of mind.

if you dont and you want an easily, and affordibly serviced machine opt for a bosch

if you want something built really well i really like the LG’s but service will be an issue, much like the mieles, but the models with direct drive are certainly the quietest!

if you want a reliable machine it really would be worth considering the ise23 http://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/New+Appliances/ISE+Appliances/ISE2+AW23+Washing+Machine+5+Year+Warranty.html
i stock their sister brand with a 2 year warranty who have given me very few issues, considering how many of their sister brand’s 1000 spin budget models ive sold in the last 2 years, ive returned 3x out of almost 200 sold! (that less than 1.6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}) if i told you (for example hotpoint) the average return rate was 4-6{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} you really can trust the ise. thats why they back it up with a 5yr warranty!

We have a Bosch Classixx 12oo Express WAE24162.
Had it two years, no problems at all.

You should consider the ISE – we did but in the end panic set in and the local department store had the Bosch in stock and could deliver the same day.

However, we are moving house soon and leaving the Bosch behind so a great opportunity to buy the ISE10 which really impresses me.
