Which washing machine??

hi

Im new to this site found it while looking for advice on washers.

I gotta buy a new washing machine does anyone know which is the best one to buy at the cheaper end of the market

the washers i found in my price range are:-
Tricity Aw1001 2yr warranty
Candy CNA145
Zanussi ZWD1221 2yr warranty
Are any of the above any good?? or not??

A very simple answer, none of the machines at the ‘cheaper’ end of the market will be reliable, or long lasting. If you buy a £200 machine that lasts you 2 years, in 10 years it will have cost you £1000 for five such machines, they will also have been more prone to breakdown in this time. If you buy a good quality machine at around £350 to £400 such as a Bosch, you will more than likely get 10 to 15 years service with far less unreliability as well. One thing is for sure, the saying, “You get what you pay for” is very true when applied to modern domestic appliances.

Tricity & Zanussi are basically the same machine, both along with AEG are owned by Electrolux. Not sure of those model numbers but reports of the cheaper end of the Zanussi range now coming with a completely sealed outer drum like the Indesit is not good news. The Candy is marginally better than the Servis, but not by much.

Don may see this thread and be able to give you a more definative answer, but to be honest there is no getting away from the fact that ‘Cheap’ is just that, and there is nothing cheerful about cheap washing machines. 😥

I would stick with the Bosch range sunflower look at the WFL2067 for a 1000 spin or the WFO2467 which is a 1200. You can see them here http://boschappliances.co.uk

You can go up further in the range if you are wanting more features and functions such as time delay, LCD displays and higher spin speeds. They also come with a two year guarantee as well.
