Hi. I’m in the process of buying a house so getting ready to buy my first white goods.

I’m looking for a quality washing machine. I don’t mind paying a bit extra for quality, but at the same time don’t want to pay ridiculous money. I’d also like a 5 year warranty.

There will be two of us in the house, though given the (hopeful) lifespan of the machine that will increase by at least one. I imagine it will do 2-4 loads per week.

I may consider getting a built in machine, provided there aren’t too many compromises. In your experience are they worse / more expensive / compromised compared to a freestanding washing machine?

I’ve had a look at the Which recommendation which is the Samsung WF80F5E5U4X. Would you guys recommend a Samsung? In the few posts I’ve read on this board it all seems to be Miele (seem to be very expensive) and Bosch recommendations?

Samsung are junk. Bosch better. Siemens for 5 trouble free years.

    Or…

    Samsung are junk.

    Bosch are better.

Siemens pretty much a Bosch with a five year warranty and higher price. Both have restricted service info.

AEG/Electrolux/Zanussi easier to repair with often cheaper parts.

Whirlpool okay but parts stupidly expensive, service info restricted.

Hotpoint, same. Same company now really.

Hoover/Candy not the best build but parts and service info at least available.

Miele best build out there these days but completely closed on service info and parts stupidly expensive.

For the use, I’d probably plump for the AEG/Electrolux route or, if you can live with the lack of any tech support other than the likes of on here, Bosch (whatever they print on the facia) is okay.

    K.
