    hi just wondered wheter someone could advise me on which washing machine to buy for my mum, we have upto £300.00. thank you 🙁

    Sorry lmcc67 I missed this, as did others I expect.

    Stretch the budget a bit and buy a Meile or a Bosch (German one) as, quite honestly, I wouldn’t recommend any of the brands mentioned I’m afraid.

    A quick squint on the Comet site shows the following at the £300 price point.

    Whirlpool AWM5145/5 and AWM6163
    LG 10240F
    Samsung J1253GW
    Bosch WFO2467

    Whirlpool is adequate, the Koreans are nice but have issues with sprung floors and are at the end of a very long supply chain should problems arise. Value for money I don’t think you can beat Bosch. The 2 year warranty is an extra selling point.

    BTW, Comet try and do the first year servicing themselves with limited success should problems arise, so use this purely as a guide, similar pricings will be available from other sources.
