Hi, I’m planning to change the fan heating element on a Candy F241 cooker. While I’ve got it in pieces, are there any parts that need any servicing – eg some WD40 on the Fan / Cable connections – not sure if this will help or harm….

Try not to use wd40 anywhere near the fan motor, the bearings are of phospher bronze and therefore are self lubricating. WD40 will harm the bearing

Usually a vacumm cleaner will be required for an old appliance along with a degreaser, you’ll see why when you do the job.

Power off at the mains and remove the fuse or set the trip to OFF before starting any maintenance.

    hope this helps
