Whirlpool 3LER5436EQ0 large capacity dryer no start.

This m/c will not start when the start button is pressed, clicking noises can be heard from the timer. Is there a separate start relay on this m/c or is it integral whithin the timer ?

Start relay is in the start switch.
There should be a circuit drawing tucked under the control panel.

The clicking noises seem to be coming from the timer not the start switch could this still be the start relay ?

Start switch/relay is easy enough to test then its out with the test equipment and circuit drawing.

Simple machine to repair but spares are way overpriced

there is a fuse hidden in the wiring loom. a large glass one.
it may be worth checking they are taped in making it awkward to find.

Had a look at one of these today (never worked on one before).
Fault was dead, no start. Found an open circuit thermal fuse in line with door switch. Its at the back down the bottom near the vent stats.
May not be same as your fault allan73 as you have noise from timer.
