ParticipantHave to do a gearbox and clutch on this W/P Top loader. Have not done one before so any pointers would be great. Any seals that need replacing or do they come with gearbox 😕
Thanks Alan

Hi Bill,
read this posting and thought the fact that there was a fair bit of oil on floor under machine and around gearbox that both would require changing. ❓Alan

really simple to change this
if i am right you will need gearbox and spin clutch unit which is sat on top of box
as a quick guide
remove control panel screws slide forward and hinge it back
unplug wires to casing and remove clips holding casing in position tilt towards you and slide off
unclip pump, unplug motor , capacitor and earth wire remove clips and remove
take top off paddle in tub look down inside and remove plastic cover and remove bolt holding paddle. remove paddle under paddle there is somtimes a metal clip and washer remove
tilt machine at about 45 degree angle remove 3 bolts holding gearbox then lower box away
all you have to do is swop clutch and put back try not to turn tub if u do it will drop (not a lot ) and you will have to turn tub pushing up to be able to get box back in
Hope this helps

No need to remove the cabinet
The machine loses rigidity if you do
Remove the agitator then tip machine backwards against the wall.
unclip pump and push to one side leaving hoses attached.
Disconnect all wiring to motor and unscrew three hex head screws (1/2″)
and pull gearbox out with motor attached.Steve
