It is banging during the spin,I put this down to it spinning full of water, I called to another top loader and I watched it empty and it did not release the brake till it was empty of water.

Some machines have a neutral drain gearbox fitted which does what it says ie. drains in neutral.
Most UK models will start spinning full of water.Check for a broken suspension spring.
The one at the back which is connected from the tub mount down to the chassis is the likely culprit.Training manual here

The friction pads can wear out, break or get contaminated.
There are two sets of three (both different)Only other thing I can think of to check is the weight ring around the top rim of the wash drum.
It contains water which moves round during spin and helps to even out imbalance.
If the water has got out the balance will be affected.
Don’t know if it comes as a spare or if you need a complete drum.Steve

Hi Guys
I called again this time with the manual. When I the machine filled with water and started to agitate, I noticed that it is only going clockwise,is this normal or should it go back and forth. I did change the gearbox about 6 months ago,I also noticed that tthey did not seem any delay to allow the machine to empty of water before going into spin.December 11, 2010 at 12:59 pm #335848monkey
