Hi all, i didn’t spend much time on this yesterday just did a couple of basics. The fault is no motor action and the element doesn’t heat either. I by passed the start relay to test and the door switch is ok. Timer issue?

check the fuse hidden in the harness normally T6.3A

its normally wrapped into the hatness leading to the timer

heater on these is switched by the motor centrifugal switch . so no motor no heat

If the fuse is gone then the timer wouldn’t be ticking away as it is also in line to the timer.

My suggestions would be to check

    • That the belt hasn’t snapped or come off of the tensioner (there is a switch that detects the tensioner being loose).
    • Check the thermal fuse on the exhaust duct (two blue wires) as this is inline with the motor on these.
    • Do you hear any buzz from the motor when you press the start switch? if so then you may have a bad motor or centrifugal switch.

There is usually a wiring diagram on the inside of the lower cover but if you need any service info then let me have an email and I can send it to you.

Thanks Jem. The pulleys and belt all intact and lever switch not activated. No it’s totally silent no humming etc. i’ll check that thermal fuse over the weekend.

It turned out to be the thermal fuse on the exhaust duct. Thank you for the info and all that replied . It’s the first time i came across one of these dryers.
