Probably a simple one for someone with more knowledge of these things….

American style tumble dryer will not start. Press start button and the relay latches but no go. Door switch ok. Could a tripped thermal fuse cause this problem?

    Cheers,

a lot of them have a hidden 6.3a fuse in the wiring harness. search the harness coming out of the timer and you might well find an inline fuse holder

if it is a thermal fuse it will be the one on the exhaust. there are 2 stats on the exhaust pipe as it leaves the fan. the one with 2 connections is a thermal fuse

    looks like

Thanks Dave. I did look for a fuse, but I think that’s only in the washing machines. Would need to be bigger than 6.3a in a tumble dryer I would have thought.

its only feeding the motor the elements are switched by the motor so they cant come on unless the motor is running

Go to the top of the class Clockworkone, it was indeed a broken belt. Never knew it had microswitch to detect a broken belt. Thanks.

Btw, can anyone confirm that 481935818142 is the correct belt?
