ParticipantHi,
got one of theses WP driers on tomorrow. Done some work on some work on some of the other larger WP TDs before so I’m reasonably ok with them… it’s just been about 18 months since I’ve seen one… an not seen this particular one before. (I think PNC is 8570 950 0110 although customer couldn’t find it).
On pre-diag customer says it hummms and the drum doesn’t turn.. pretty sure these aren’t cap start motors… I asked cusotmer to try and turn drum but said he couldn’t but didn’t use much force when trying.
Any particular quirks on this model…

ParticipantRe: Whirpool 3XLER5435HQ-0 Tumble Drier,
Didn’t get to this today but delayed until tomorrow or even Wednesday. TBC.
What’s the best way to change the motor?? (if it is the motor)
Obviously front off..no problems. The drum rests on 2 trollies or wheels I believe. Does the drum just lift off the wheels and out?? (After disconnecting belt from the pulley.) I know there’s no shaft at the rear of the drum.
Any futher tips would be appreciated.

If it is the motor quote for the fan as well. In a lot of cases the little buuger wont come off and the only way to remove it is to smash it with a hammmer.

Hi to all who helped. You were all correct…it was partially seized bearings on the motor…
