Whirlpool ADG 6340 only runs on quick cycle and lights flash

ADG 6340 3 years old.

Green light flashes 4 times, press to start and will empty then stop, press again and it will continue and complete a quick wash as normal.

try to use other cycles and it stops after first empty then indicator will return to quick cycle and stop.

I have tried cutting power to reset, pressing button for 6 secs when in off mode.

Seems to empty but dirty water left sometimes, no signs of leaks, we live in a very hard water area

4 flashes is drain not detected in the time allowed. Your comment about dirty water fits in with this. I would start by checking the routing of the drain hose for nips and kinks, as well as the sink coupling if that is how the machine is draining out.

To actually clear the code, hold down the start buttton with the power on and wait for the beep. Shut the door and drain pump should run for about a minute. Machine can then be re-programmed.
