I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I’m getting the 3 flashes error but can’t seem to find what it means either here nor in the manual.
After 30 mins or so of operation, the machine trips out and sounds a continuous repeating beep tone. When I open the door, the error light is giving out the 3 flashes code.
I don’t know if this helps, but the water does not seem to be getting warm but perhaps this is because it is not getting far enough into the cycle?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards
    Dany

3 flashes – no heat in the time allowed. Heater failure, burnt out wiring, PCB are all possible failures.

Power off if you plan to investigate this yourself.

    Thanks,
If it helps the diagnostics I can add the following:

    1. The appliance has tripped the consumer unit a couple of times
    2. I am in a very hard water area
    3. There appears to be some distortion of the plastic control panel (perhaps due to steam escape when door is opened immediately after a program completes)

Thanks in advance Pengy if you are able to offer any more info.

    Regards

Tripping C/B would point towards the heater failing. This is a tube under the machine – a test meter will be neccessary to check it.

I have a meter, I assume I have to remove the DW from situ and tip it up to gain access?

    Thanks

Can you recommend an on line supplier if the tube has failed?

…one last question Pengy, if you have time!
What sort of reading do I need to take, how do I go about it and what should the results be???
    …sorry, that’s 3 questions!
    Really appreciate your expert advice.

Re: Whirlpool ADG 7550 3 flashes error code

Heater should give 25-30 ohms when spilt from the circuit – however, a check for readings to earth is pretty crucial….. anything below 2Megohms will knock the breakers off.

Re: Whirlpool ADG 7550 3 flashes error code

Sorry for my lack of technical knowledge but I have split the heater from the circuit (as advised) and connected the meter across the 2 contacts that are immediately next to each other (the 2 with the black connector block plugs on to) and there is no continuity. Does this mean that the element has failed/shorted and needs replacing?

Also, how do I perform the “readings to earth” test?

    Thanks

Re: Whirlpool ADG 7550 3 flashes error code

No circuit = dead…….. No need for any earth testing. A working element should have read about 25ohms.

    You need this:

Re: Whirlpool ADG 7550 3 flashes error code

    1. Is there a correct way to remove the rubber hose clips on either side of the unit?
    2. Can these be re-used or are new jubilee type clips needed (obviously don’t want to risk a leak under the machine)!

    Thanks once again.

Re: Whirlpool ADG 7550 3 flashes error code

Ah……. The one at the motor end you can generally leave alone, as you can get enough leverage to push the new heater home. The one at the hose end needs to be uncrimped with pointy nosed pliers, then made round again. Careful use of a pair of side-cutters will re-crimp it when you fit the element.

Jubilees are way too wide to be made to fit.
