Participantcan any one tell me y the above dish washer when set on any cycle drains as normal then when it is supposed to fill it drains and fills at the same time for about 2 seconds. there is then about a 3 second pause and repeats its self again then again etc. when i open the door to check for a fault code the programme it was set on keeps flashing with no pause.
Thankyou.September 3, 2008 at 8:37 am #261543DentedPorsche

Can anyone help with this strange fault, which I have come across again on this d/w model (Whirlpool ADG450-3, a slimline made by Smeg). No fault code is displayed. There’s no obvious fault with the solonoids, etc and the PCB resets OK. Am I right to suspect the PCB, or have I missed another possible cause?

have you tried taking out the filters and cleaning the black mesh on the right side? i have found these to blocked and gungy.

Thanks both for your suggestions. There’s no black mesh under the filter on this one though, as its a rebadged late Smeg, not a Whirlpool type. Also its definiteley not showing a fault code – the programme light flashes to show whichever programme is running. Any other ideas would be welcome as its a rare and expensive PCB.

Try the harness at bottom of door, you will find at least one broken wire.

Have you checked for earth faults?…they play havoc with the pcb…the usual suspects are the suppressor and terminal block, occasionally the element 😉

Thanks all for your input. Just for the record, in this instance the fault was cured by fitting a new control module.

Is there a fault code list for this dishwasher?
Every time I start the programme it does something different so I would like to be well armed before I go back.TC

hi. can anyone confirm that the original fault posted in this thread was cured with a new pcb? I’ve got the exact same fault on one of these. Thanks
